Back at it!

Session 1, Day 2! Another action packed day on the courts with some additional fun in the sun...

Campers met us back at the Stevens Tennis Center to hone their skills and learn some new tricks. Breakfast arrived early and we hit the courts promptly at 8:30. Even after an eventful Day 1, legs were fresh for all our campers, and 12:30 came and went before we knew it. Lunch was definitely to-go today as we were on a tight schedule to catch our rafting shuttle @ 2pm sharp at the Historic Davenport Hotel.

Marty from FLOW Adventures picked us up for our short drive down to the Spokane River, and after our safety briefing, we were off! July is the perfect time on the Spokane River for a relaxing float and calm water to cool off and enjoy our local gem. We cruised the river in kayaks and rafts, the city of Spokane getting farther behind with each bend in the river. About 2/3 of the way to our pullout location, we beached the boats at our preselected tasting beach, and had some wine! Zenaida Cellars indulged our palates as we sipped by the river and truly soaked in our surroundings. As was the theme from Day 1, this was the first time Flow Adventures had done a river wine tasting, and was a first for everyone involved as well.

Our final evening out on the town found us at Tavolata to cap off a great Day 2. The biggest lesson learned was that Tavolata appetizers are no joke! We indulged far too much early into our evening, but it’s hard to say no when everything is so good! The food was amazing, and the carefully crafted pairings from Avennia highlighted the night. Despite our long and adventurous day, we savored our wine with Cellar Master Jared well into the night before finally calling it a day.
